Welcome, to “a holy calling,” the radio teaching ministry of Don Minkler. This ministry, which started in September 2010, was created out of a continuing burden to help equip both those whom the Lord has called and those whom He shall call and raise up, into pastoral and teaching positions of ministry. This ministry is especially focused upon proclaiming the great doctrines of the faith, and exhorting those who teach to walk worthy of that calling with which we have been called in holiness. Let those who answer the call of God in such a ministry be ever mindful that we who teach shall be judged more strictly. Let us ever look humbly then to Him who is able to keep us from stumbling, and to present us faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy!

"Watching Out For Souls"
This week concludes the 6 part series on the doctrine of the conditional covenant of salvation (see page listing to the left for download). It is a great responsibility to be a shepherd of the sheep under the Chief Shepherd. We must not hide our hearers from the warning passages, nor explain the warnings away into mere irrelevance -- souls are at stake. This, the last in the 6 part series, has a special addresses to those who care for the souls of others -- whether or not they are in the ministry.

This is an incredible blessing to anyone who has ever had to publicly humiliate themselves as they stumble reading through the difficult-to-pronounce names in the Bible. Hope's Phonetic Bible is the work of Dr. Jack Hope who was Don's pastor growing up. Later on, Don entered the ministry by becoming Jack's Associate Pastor. Hope's Phonetic Bible appears parallel with the King James version. Jack Hope has graciously given his Phonetic Bible to the Church at large. Although it is copyrighted, Jack has allowed it to be freely copied and used, as long as it is on a non-profit basis. If you would like a free copy on disc sent to you, as we are able, we would be glad to send one to you (one per household unless special arrangements are made). If you would include a little bit to help cover the cost of shipping the disc, great --- but if not, as we are able, we are glad to send it out. Freely we've received, freely we're to give. It is the design of this ministry to provide quality Christian material (and education) free. All lessons, lectures and downloadable notes (as well as any future printed material the Lord enables us to provide through the website) are offered free. All lessons and notes posted are available for free download. Besides this we are making available these same lessons in a nicer format - the exact same information that can be downloaded for free, but in nice case suitable for a bookshelf (as pictured). To produce them (those doctrinal lectures which also come with notes) in this format cost us more money in both time and materials to put together, though we seek to produce them in this format in the most cost efficient manner open to us. If you would like to order these lectures in this format, it would greatly help this ministry if you would include a suggested donation of $7.00 (or any amount) per case. However, even in this format we do not sell them, and if requested, so long as we judge we are able to do so) we will send them out at no charge. In saying this, we do not want anyone to hesitate to use the resources we provide here on A Holy Calling because of a thought that they should first give to the ministry. There's an account involving Adam Clarke (though it is unclear if he said this or if he had this said to him [so this is not an exact quote]) concerning someone troubled about an offering being taken after a message which had been delivered on taking the water of life freely. In response to the confusion it was wisely said: "The water of life is free, but someone has to pay for the pipes and buckets to bring the water to others." This is well said -- and we trust that God will continue to provide through His people so long as this ministry please Him. We are amazed at how God has blessed this ministry so far.
